Can I use my 3G iPhone as an internet source for the 8800AXL?

Sorry but I'm fairly uneducated in 3G/4G useability with routers

I have an iPhone with a Three contract which gives me unlimited data and am wondering if I can set up a network with the 8800AXL making use of this phone contract

If not, another question. I have 12GB Data that I can use to tether devices. Would this be an option if I'm unable to use my phones unlimited Data?

Or do I need a dongle to do this?

i.e. That I can use my iphone via USB to set up a network utilising my Unlimited download data plan on my iphone

Or

That I can use my iphone via USB to utilise the 12GB tethering limit that I have in my contract

If you mean the second option then I can just use the iphone Hotspot to tether and don't need a router in that case

I really hope you mean option 1 above though, that would be awesome

I mean option 1, so plug your phone to the 8800AXL via USB, then enable tethering via USB. (you might need to check your contract details to make sure they allow tethering)

After a minute or so, click on 'Status >> WAN' and see if the 8800AXL has obtained a IP address from your iphone

Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work. I plug the iphone in but the router doesn't pick up any up address or connect in any way

I then tried the quick set up and used 3G/LTE as source but it then brought up a screen asking for username and PIN which mobile phone contract companies don't provide

Bummer, I was so hoping this would work
