Have noticed if PC is allowed to go into sleep mode, router appears to 'lose contact' with the internet. If PC woken by shaking mouse - then most times I cannot connect to homepage or download emails etc. without restarting pc. Does this happen to anyone else - or am I doing something wrong?
Any ideas?
Thanks for reading.

Re: Sleep Mode affecting 8800NL
I tested this with a windows 10 laptop and once the device woke up (I manually put into sleep mode) I could ping the routers IP address without any issue.
Also tested with a win 7 desktop using a asus ac68 (same method, putting the device into sleep mode, waking it up, then checking for connectivity with the router using ping commands)

B_F Thanks for doing that - Windows 7 desktop. Not sure how to ping. (I have not tried using the router's url typed into IE to access it during one of these periods. I will, next time it happens & report back.) Apologies for lack of technical expertise & language.billion_fan wrote:I tested this with a windows 10 laptop and once the device woke up (I manually put into sleep mode) I could ping the routers IP address without any issue.

Thanks also to Ned L - wired connection - I should have said that in post - sorry.

Re: Sleep Mode affecting 8800NL
Just tried a 'forced' sleep. On wakeup I could not access the router via its url & couldn't access internet.
Following restart of PC - all OK again -???

I followed the instructions and unchecked powersave options on the Intel Network adapter, tried a manual sleep mode; restarted and all went OK. Won't count chickens until it happens OK a few times - but looks promising.
B_F - Really grateful for help
Did not have same problem with previous routers |(Netgear, BTHH3) so guess Billion 8800NL must have something which doesn't like the way PC is set up. I haven't changed these settings before so presume they are standard Windows settings - wonder why more people don't have this problem?
Anyway . . . maybe this will help.

Re: Sleep Mode affecting 8800NL
Hopefully final post on this topic - left PC to go into automatic sleep mode and then rewoken. All is OK. Internet connected, router stats available, everything appears normal.
As I said - hope this helps someone else too.
Thanks folks!
