Usually after a reboot the 5GHz network will last for a day or so and then all the devices connected to the 5GHz drop at the same time (PC, Xbox One, Switch, Android phones). Once the 5GHz network drops it's all or nothing. No devices can connect to it until there's been a reboot.Radiocrazy wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2018 5:45 pm
Just for interest are they Apple devices or any 5gHz device, I had a long battle with 5gHz (disappearing 5gHz BUT not the signal just as far as the device was concerned)
but it was because of my passwords were made up of special characters after a lot of experiments raised it with technical and the problem was resolved and I no longer have the problem, BUT maybe you still are using a very special character which is still causing a problem avoid SPACE and @ ! ? may cause trouble.
Just a suggestion is I got it all wrong sorry I will go back to sleep.
Happy New Year All
The password doesn't contain any special characters, just uppercase/lowercase and numerals, but there is a space in the 5GHz network name. Maybe I'll try dropping that and see how I go.
I've been using firmware from the Australian site because I'm based in Melbourne, but I'm posting here because unfortunately the AU site doesn't have a help forum.
I personally would not recommend spaces in the Network anywhere even in the devices i have Sky_Plus.

Re: Bipac 8900AX-2400 Firmware 2.52.d24
So after some rigorous testing I've finally resolved the issue. Unfortunately it was by downgrading to the original 2.50a.dc28 firmware.Radiocrazy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2018 11:17 pmI just downloaded the Australian firmware and it is exactly the same bytes as ours, to save me looking it up would the UK firmware match up with you're ISP, if not have you a DSL modem then you could use that, because the lower part of the band e.g. channel 36 is in the UK firmware and the bandwidths are the same so no problems there, it might be worth flashing our firmware and see if it disconnects on the 5gHz band, Interesting the UK firmware just says updated wireless drivers but the Australian update is just the 2.5gHz band, so maybe its the same for US.

I tried downloading the latest UK firmware (2.52.d27) and testing that, but the issue persisted. Every day or so the 5GHz network would disappear completely - I couldn't see it from any device, PC, phone, game console, whatever, even though the 5GHz light was on - and would only return after rebooting the router. I tried testing different 5GHz channels but that didn't work either.
I also tried working backwards through all the AU firmware releases and doing the same thing - doing a factory reset of the router and then changing through all the channels each time the 5GHz network dropped - but that also failed to resolve the issue.
Finally I got back to the original release (2.50a.dc28) and set it up from scratch, haven't had an issue since. My 5GHz network has been up for over a week without fault.

I've gone back to D23 and that has fixed the problem. Looks like the new wireless driver in D24 breaks 5GHz reliability.

Any news on when a new firmware beta or release will be available? D28 was posted end of April and so we're getting on close to 4-months. Appreciate any update you might have. Thanks!!

The latest firmware I have is 2.52.d31, I don't have any release notes yet.
I have attached it, if you wish to test it

Thanks for sharing. Have run it up. Good so far. Looking at the boot log, it would seem almost all of the Broadcom drivers have been updated with a date of May 2nd 2018.
Lets us know what you find out. Thanks again!

Firmware 2.52.d31 seems stable to me WiFi 2.4 & 5gHz and no unusual line drops, not sure what the updates are for I know we are still waiting for that, not fixed the talktalk internet LED or the dreaded 5gHz LED that thinks its a car indicator.
UPDATE
Been running very stable for 10 days 17 hours
