I refer to the "LAN side firewall" configuration setting found at Configuration > LAN > LAN Parameters.
Under what circumstances should this be enabled? Is it meant for a particular and separate router and modem physical arrangement, or has it a meaningful use also for the 8800NL when the latter's a combined router-and-modem? Can't find any description of "LAN side firewall" in the 8800 user manual. Is it conceivably referring to a setup where an additional piece of firewall hardware is placed between the 8800 and the user's network?
Under what circumstances should this setting be used?

Re: Under what circumstances should this setting be used?
LAN side firewall should only be used when isolating wireless guest networks, or port isolation, (this feature when enabled will block a isolation group from the main group, and also block access to the web gui)gatekeeper wrote:I refer to the "LAN side firewall" configuration setting found at Configuration > LAN > LAN Parameters.
